Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 60 Firm, is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support our South Florida Litigation Team in the Fort Lauderdale office. The position supports a dynamic national corporate dispute resolution practice handling sophisticated business disputes, litigation, arbitration, mediation, and related transactional matters across the United States.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to attorneys and team members, assisting with all aspects of case and matter management. Responsibilities include drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, contracts, settlement agreements, and other transactional and dispute-related materials under attorney direction. You will maintain electronic files in NetDocuments, manage filings in state and federal courts, and in arbitration tribunal platforms, monitor dockets and deadlines, and assist with hearings, mediations, depositions, arbitrations, and trials. Additional responsibilities include supporting document production and discovery, coordinating calendars and meetings, assisting with collections, communicating with clients and vendors, and supporting billing, conflict checks, matter intake, and other administrative functions. The practice has a national scope and requires regular interaction with clients, courts, and business professionals across multiple jurisdictions. This is an in-office position requiring regular on-site presence.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting attorneys in a legal or professional services environment and possess strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Prior experience supporting a corporate dispute resolution, commercial litigation, or transactional practice is preferred but not required. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems and technologies. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, client-service focused, and enthusiastic about leveraging new technologies, including AI-powered tools, to improve efficiency and support a sophisticated national practice.
