Overview

Nelson Mullins law firm is looking to add a detail-oriented and proactive Litigation Administrative Assistant to provide high-level support in complex commercial, civil, and defense litigation matters to join the Dallas Litigation team in Plano, TX. As an AmLaw100 firm, this is a unique opportunity to join an expanding practice that offers a range of litigation services to clients in a variety of industries.

A Day in the Life

As an Administrative Assistant you will support Partners, Associates, and Paralegals by preparing, revising, proofreading, and finalizing correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents. Responsibilities include maintaining calendars and deadlines, filing documents in state and federal courts, scheduling depositions and meetings, and assisting with trial, hearing, discovery, and deposition preparation. The position will also handle travel arrangements, expense reports, attorney time entry, conflict checks, new matter openings, client files, billing requirements, invoices, and client communications. The candidate must be able to manage competing priorities and communicate proactively regarding deadlines and assignments.

We Know You

The ideal candidate has meaningful litigation experience within a law firm, including hands-on filing experience in both Texas state and federal courts. Experience with eviction matters and familiarity with Indiana court filing procedures are a plus but are not required. Candidates must have excellent communication, proofreading, organizational, and time-management skills, along with strong judgment and attention to detail. . Experience with document management, docketing, billing, time-entry, and expense-reporting systems is preferred. The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter who can work independently, collaborate effectively, and occasionally work overtime for urgent filings or trial-related matters.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience gained in a law firm setting.
  • Knowledge of Texas and federal court procedures, electronic filing systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and typing skills of at least 65 words per minute
