Overview

Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 100 law firm, is seeking a Billing Assistant to join our growing Accounting team in Columbia, South Carolina. This role supports attorneys and staff across all firm offices by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of client billing.

A Day in the Life

The Billing Assistant will join a collaborative and detail-oriented team that values communication, precision, and outstanding client service. This position is responsible for collaborating with attorneys, accounting team members, and firm staff while following client billing guidelines and firm policies. Some key responsibilities include:

  • Process, revise, and distribute client billing memos throughout the billing cycle
  • Research billing questions or discrepancies and post expenses to the firm’s accounting system
  • Prepare basic billing reports and assist with special or complex billing projects

We Know You

A high school diploma or GED is required, with an associate’s degree preferred, and 0–2 years of related billing, accounting, or administrative support experience.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, is essential, along with clear communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
