Overview

Nelson Mullins, an Am Law 60 firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Administrative Assistant with three to five years of experience to join its National Civil Litigation Team in the Atlanta office. This role provides comprehensive administrative and clerical support to a busy litigation practice in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, professional, and collaborative, with a strong commitment to supporting attorneys and delivering excellent service to clients.

A Day in the Life

As a Litigation Administrative Assistant, you will maintain electronic and paper files using NetDocs; draft, format, and proofread legal documents; and manage electronic filings in state and federal courts. You will handle discovery materials, incoming mail, and document production, process docketing requests using VisionSQL, and communicate professionally with clients and internal teams. The role also includes scheduling meetings and depositions, assisting with trial preparation, supporting billing and time entry, maintaining calendars, processing expenses, performing conflict checks, and opening and closing client matters.

We Know You

The ideal candidate brings prior civil litigation support experience and thrives in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. They have experience preparing and proofreading legal documents, managing electronic filings in both federal and state courts, and handling a high volume of documents. Experience tracking discovery materials, reviewing court filings, and processing docketing requests is required. The successful candidate will also have experience providing professional client and internal communication support, scheduling meetings and depositions, assisting with trial preparation, and supporting billing and administrative functions, including time entry, invoicing, calendar management, expense processing, conflict checks, and opening and closing client matters.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation matters in both federal and state courts
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities under time‑sensitive deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and familiarity with legal billing guidelines and client invoicing
