Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 60 firm, is seeking Corporate Administrative Assistant to support partners and senior attorneys in the Corporate, Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Transactional Tax practice groups in the Houston office. This position requires a proactive administrative professional with experience supporting corporate legal professionals in multiple practice areas, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and transactional tax.

A Day in the Life

This role provides high-level administrative support for corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and private equity matters. Responsibilities include preparing and finalizing transactional documents and correspondence, coordinating signature packets and closings, maintaining organized transaction files, and tracking critical deadlines and compliance calendars. The position also supports IRS and state agency matters by preparing and submitting filings, managing correspondence with taxing authorities, and coordinating corporate and entity filings (including formations, amendments, annual reports, and UCC filings) across multiple jurisdictions. In addition, the role provides day-to-day administrative support to partners, including complex calendar management, client communications, billing, and time entry assistance, and maintaining organized document management systems in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking a candidate who is well-organized, detail-oriented, exercises sound judgment, exhibits reliability, accountability, confidentiality, and has exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen interest in providing purposeful support to lawyers and paralegals as part of a wider corporate practice team.

We Know You

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience supporting partners in a high-volume M&A or transactional practice, along with significant experience handling administrative matters involving the IRS and other taxing authorities. Direct experience interacting with the Texas Comptroller and managing corporate filings with Secretaries of State in Texas, Delaware, and other jurisdictions, both directly and through third‑party service providers, is required. This role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple high-priority matters in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a client-service mindset are essential for success.
