Nelson Mullins is seeking a experienced Litigation Administrative Assistant to join our Litigation Team in the Atlanta office. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively within a dynamic team, providing a wide range of secretarial, administrative, and clerical support in a fast-paced environment.

A Day in the Life

As an Litigation Administrative Assistant, you will maintain organized electronic and paper files, draft and format correspondence and legal documents, and ensure accuracy through careful editing and proofreading. You’ll manage e-filing, track discovery documents, and handle a high volume of files and client relationships. Regular tasks include filing pleadings electronically in court systems, downloading and uploading documents, and managing incoming mail and document productions. Professional communication is essential, as you’ll answer calls and emails, schedule meetings and depositions, and assist with trial preparation. Additionally, you’ll support client billing, monitor accounts receivable, maintain attorney calendars, process expenses, and perform initial conflicts checks as well as open and close client matters.

We Know You

A successful candidate will bring a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in civil defense litigation, demonstrating strong professional attributes in analytical thinking, multi-tasking, and problem-solving. Familiarity with legal billing guidelines and collections is essential, as is a demonstrated initiative and self-direction. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong work ethic are required, along with the ability to work under time-intensive deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills, spelling, and grammar are expected, as well as advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

 

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in civil defense litigation
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Dropbox, OneDrive, Imanage and/or Filesite a significant plus
