Overview

The Cleveland office of an AmLaw 100 law firm seeks a Litigation Administrative Assistant that has experience supporting busy Litigation Partners to provide an elevated level of administrative support and assistance to a busy team of legal professionals.  This position requires a proactive administrative professional with a “can do attitude” who is able to give exceptional legal and administrative support by anticipating needs, finding solutions to problems, and being an active team player.

A Day in the Life

The ideal candidate will have experience in a legal environment and stellar administrative and litigation support skills.  This role will be responsible for managing, updating, and tracking/monitoring litigation cases and documents, business development documents, Excel Spreadsheets, and contact lists to ensure our data is current and organized.  The Assistant will also revise and finalize correspondence, discovery documents, pleadings, motions, and other materials as delegated.  This role will ensure documents are properly filed with appropriate courts, including submission of paper and electronic filings.  The Assistant will schedule depositions and other client meetings, run conflict checks, open new client engagements, set-up billing requirements for clients, and enter attorney time in our time entry system.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, litigation skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

We Know You

This role requires 5+ years of recent State and Federal litigation experience within a law firm. This position will need exceptional written and verbal communication skills with fellow employees, clients, and attorneys. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment by organizing and prioritizing multiple time sensitive tasks daily will be a crucial requirement of this role.  Top candidates will be familiar with key legal principles and possess incredible accuracy, strong IT capabilities, excellent time management skills, and must be able to work on their own with minimal guidance. The ideal candidate will also have interpersonal skills and professional judgment to interface with attorneys and clients.
