Overview

Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 60 firm, is actively seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team in the downtown Los Angeles office. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to assist attorneys in a broad range of state and federal matters, playing a critical part in complex disputes across various industries. 

A Day in the Life

As a Litigation Paralegal, you'll perform a broad range of substantive tasks, working directly with attorneys on product liability, consumer fraud, and other disputes across various industries. You will maintain and monitor court deadlines, electronically file documents with the Court through the ECF system under attorney supervision, and perform online PACER research. Your responsibilities will also include preparing drafts of pleadings, notices, and motions. Expect to prepare deposition notices, organize and manage deposition materials, exhibits, and summaries, and track/manage discovery, including document productions. You'll participate in case strategy meetings, handle routine communications with courts, outside attorneys, experts, and clients, and assist with all phases of trial preparation and attendance.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses well-developed critical thinking, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.  You have a strong sense of accountability, take ownership over projects and responsibilities, resolve issues proactively, and know how to be a true team player.  You’re a technology pro and have no problem learning new software.  You utilize your paralegal expertise and keen eye for detail to further teamwork, client services, and efficiency.

 

  • 2 or 4-year degree and a paralegal certificate; however, work experience may be substituted for education.
  • Ability to conduct research using various research tools, including the Internet and Westlaw. Ability to travel for trial when needed. Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet business needs.
  • Salary/Wage Range - $95,000 - $115,000 annually. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for merit-based raises and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans and paid time off.
