Be prepared to immerse yourself in a fast-paced Commercial Real Estate practice. Supporting attorneys and working alongside other legal professionals, you’ll assist with daily needs including reviewing and abstracting purchase agreements with attention to critical dates and closing conditions, analyzing title and survey matters, drafting title review memorandums and title objection letters, reviewing mortgage assignment documents to ensure proper sequencing and format, analyzing search results, organizing and fulfilling conditions necessary to satisfy title requirements, and managing post-closing tasks.
Working under pressure to meet strict deadlines for demanding clients is a breeze. You exhibit excellent client service skills by working on multiple matters simultaneously in an organized manner and under minimal supervision. Your strong communication skills are evident in your ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including management staff and support staff. The use of computers for organizing and maintaining documents, as well as familiarity with technology in general, is one or your strong suits. You work equally well in an independent and a team environment, and you’re a proactive self-starter who understands the details within a much larger context.
The ideal candidate possesses experience in reviewing titles and surveys or demonstrates a strong willingness to learn. Familiarity with real estate transactions, including commercial mortgage loans, is preferred. A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program are preferred; however, relevant work experience may be substituted for formal education.
