A Day in the Life

The Employee Relations Specialist will be responsible for investigating and resolving employee complaints, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misconduct, and other workplace concerns. This involves gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing detailed reports with recommendations. The role also includes mediating disputes between employees and management, facilitating constructive dialogue to find mutually agreeable solutions. In addition, the specialist will provide guidance to employees and managers on company policies and procedures to ensure consistent application across the organization. The position requires staying informed about federal and state employment laws to advise management on legal implications of employee relations issues and recommend actions that mitigate risk.

The Employee Relations Specialist will also deliver training sessions on topics like workplace conduct, anti-harassment policies, and conflict resolution, as well as conduct exit interviews to gather feedback from departing employees to identify areas for improvement. Furthermore, the specialist will assist managers with performance management issues, such as coaching and disciplinary actions, and contribute to strategies aimed at enhancing employee morale, engagement, and satisfaction. Finally, tracking employee relations data, identifying trends, and preparing reports for senior management will also be key aspects of the role.
