Nelson Mullins is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our Dallas/Plano office and play a key role in supporting attorneys with high-stakes commercial litigation and complex business litigation matters. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team and gain exposure to sophisticated legal challenges that will advance your career in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will assist attorneys with all aspects of case preparation, from initial filing through trial, for commercial litigation and complex business disputes across various industries. You will take ownership of case calendars, ensuring deadlines are tracked and met, and manage court filings using the ECF system and local State Court sites under attorney supervision. Additionally, you will perform detailed legal research, including PACER and Westlaw, to support case strategies and client needs, as well as prepare and draft key legal documents such as pleadings, motions, notices, and other filings, ensuring they are accurate and timely. You will also support trial preparation and provide assistance with trial logistics as needed.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm, with a solid understanding of the litigation life cycle and case management from start to finish. You will bring strong expertise in handling eDiscovery databases and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate needs and resolve issues proactively are essential. As a true team player, you will collaborate effectively with colleagues, take ownership of projects, and maintain accountability in a fast-paced environment. Trial experience is preferred, as is a keen understanding of court rules and filings. Additionally, you should be proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks independently with limited oversight, ensuring cases move forward efficiently.
A 2 or 4-year degree and a paralegal certificate are preferred, though substantial experience can substitute for formal education. Flexibility, including the potential for overtime as needed to meet business demands, will also be required.
If you're ready to take your career to the next level with a team that values your expertise, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and cover letter to apply.
