Overview

The Conflicts Counsel is responsible for running conflict searches, analyzing the results of conflict searches, and identifying and clearing conflicts of interest for all new clients and matters in the firm. The Conflicts Counsel will confer with firm Partners and their teams to determine the nature of any potential conflicts and if and how such conflicts may be resolved. This role will also confer with the General Counsel's office, as needed, during the conflict resolution process for appropriate approvals and decisions, thoroughly document conflict resolution for attorneys and business intake, and ensure that party and matter information is entered accurately in the conflicts database. You will show a willingness to assist in special projects delegated by the Conflicts Manager and will work as a team player with other Conflicts Counsel, Partners, their staff, and other departments.

We Know You

You are ready to jump in with your 3+ years of conflict searching/clearing/new business intake experience, or 5+ years' experience of working on document review projects.  You're a team player with excellent problem solving and analytical skills. You have a strong background in legal ethics/professional responsibility. You consider yourself a top-notch communicator and have a keen eye for detail.

 

  • Prior experience clearing conflicts in a law firm environment is preferred
  • JD and admission to one state bar are preferred
