Overview

Nelson Mullins is seeking attorneys to join its litigation team in the Chicago office. As an AmLaw 68 firm, this will offer a unique opportunity to a candidate who wants to be part of a dynamic team in a growing location and join a tenured team at our national platform. The ideal candidate has strong complex commercial litigation experience working in a multi-national large law firm.

A Day in the Life

You will be joining a team of trial lawyers and litigators in Chicago who represent matters in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and consumer products industries in state and federal courts involving claims of personal injury, wrongful death, and consumer fraud. You will manage all aspects of complex commercial litigation through trial, leveraging your strong research, writing, and analytical skills. You will draft and prepare pleadings and discovery requests, take, and defend depositions, crafting effective deposition outlines and summaries. Conduct legal research and write persuasive motions, arguing them confidently before courts. Manage document production and effectively handle all phases of discovery. Develop and implement winning litigation strategies through outstanding written and oral advocacy skills. Attend mediation, prepare mediation briefs, and negotiate favorable resolutions. Collaborate with colleagues and experts to achieve the best possible outcome for clients. Manage caseload, deadlines, and priorities with a driven and motivated work ethic.

We Know You

You have 10+ years of experience in complex commercial and civil litigation. You have a proven track record of success in state and federal.  You possess excellent research, writing, and analytical skills. You have strong deposition skills and exceptional oral and written advocacy skills. You bring an entrepreneurial spirit to our growing office. You possess exceptional oral and written advocacy skills and have strong communication skills. You have excellent academic credentials, and you are admitted and in good standing with the Illinois Bar. A portable book of business is not required but would be a plus.
