Nelson Mullins is seeking a knowledgeable, intuitive, and detail-oriented Paralegal Manager to join Nelson Mullins. This position may be based in the Columbia or Greenville, South Carolina office or the Charlotte, North Carolina or Atlanta, Georgia office location. 


A Day in the Life

This position reports to the Director of Professional Programs and the Chief Operations Officer and supports the Firm’s Paralegal Committee as an ex officio member. The paralegal manager leads and directs the Firm’s paralegal supervisors and paralegals. Responsibilities include recruiting, coaching, monitoring hours and work assignments, developing and overseeing training and mentoring, evaluations, budgeting, compensation management, and special projects. This position may be based in Columbia or Greenville, South Carolina; Charlotte, North Carolina; or Atlanta, Georgia.

Candidate must meet the following requirements and qualifications in order to be considered for the Paralegal Manager position:

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience working as a paralegal
  • 3+ years of experience supervising paralegals.
  • Familiarity with workflow, roles, and responsibilities of professionals on legal teams
  • Comprehensive understanding of law firm accounting and finance
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a wide variety of people at every level of the organization
  • Consummate professional, even tempered, and problem solver
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and pressure situations
  • Open to improving and eager to develop professionally
  • Ability to travel, as-needed to various office locations
