  • Overview

    The Tampa Office of an AmLaw 100 law firm is seeking qualified applicants for a Paralegal with 3-5 years of litigation experience.


    The ideal candidate will have experience in case preparation from beginning to end; the ability to perform federal and state court filings; experience with trial preparation and trials; experience with document review software and platforms; strong communication skills; the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff; the ability to self-manage and meet deadlines; and the ability to work overtime when needed.


    Mid-size to large law firm experience a plus.


    Education: BA/BS required.  Paralegal certificate or commensurate experience.


    • Perform full range of paralegal tasks from case inception through case closure.
    • Maintain and monitor court deadlines for assigned cases and take ownership of case calendars.
    • Electronically file documents with the Court through the ECF system under the supervision of an attorney.
    • Perform online PACER research.
    • Prepare case summaries and timelines.
    • Prepare drafts of pleadings, notices, and motions.
    • Prepare deposition notices; organize, maintain and prepare deposition materials, exhibits and summaries.
    • Track and manage discovery, including document productions.
    • Participate in case strategy meetings.
    • Handle routine calls and correspondence to courts, outside attorneys, and clients.
    • Ensure expertise in technology relevant to the position; proactively use most current technology to further teamwork, client service, and efficiency.


    • Experience with e-filing within the Federal Courts and knowledge of local rules.
    • Ability to conduct research using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, and Courtlink.
    • Proficient in bluebooking.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively.
    • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions.
    • Ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent teamwork skills and a strong client service orientation.
    • Flexibility to work overtime as required.
