  • Overview

    The Charleston office of a regional AmLaw 100 law firm seeks an experienced Administrative Assistant with 2-3 years of Transactional and Corporate Law Experience law experience.



    • Prepare, revise and finalize correspondence, legal documents, presentations and other materials as delegated
    • Obtain and file documents with local, state and federal court systems and government agencies
    • Run conflict checks, open new client/matter engagements, set-up billing requirements for clients, enter attorney time in entry system, assist with billing/client invoices and process expense reports
    • Maintain electronic and paper files; utilize document management system and technology to facilitate organization and efficiency
    • Maintain attorney calendars, coordinate travel arrangements and logistics, schedule meetings, conference calls and communicate with numerous internal and external parties
    • Special research projects and other assignments as delegated


    • College degree preferred; high school degree or equivalent mandatory
    • 2+ years of recent law firm experience in real estate, corporate governance, securities and/or bankruptcy law
    • Proficiency using PC computers and Microsoft Suite products (2013 and/or 2016 preferred)
    • Excellent proofreading skills and typing of 65+ wpm
    • Must have strong ability to write and communicate effectively and professionally with employees, clients, attorneys and external parties
    • Strong organizational and document management skills including experience with docketing systems and deadlines
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment by organizing and prioritizing multiple time-sensitive tasks on a daily basis
    • Experience maintaining confidential information and exercising sound judgment
    • Reliability, teamwork, professionalism, ability to multi-task and attention to detail are key components to success in this position
