  • Overview

    The Atlanta, GA office of a national, AmLaw 100 law firm is seeking qualified applicants for a Project Assistant position working directly with paralegals and attorneys on a litigation team.  The ideal candidate is a recent graduate from an accredited 4 year college or university who is considering law school or wants to learn more about the legal profession and is interested in working for 2 years prior to pursuing further education. 

    Responsibilities

    Tasks performed may include: 

    • Assisting attorneys and paralegals with implementing litigation strategies and creating charts/deliverables summarizing same;
    • Performing basic research and compiling of data;
    • Proficiently use electronic litigation databases and other technology to streamline case management;
    • Organizing documents and monitoring files;
    • Performing non-legal research using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER and other court-related websites for case law, statutes, articles, books, etc.;
    • Entering and tracking data; and
    • Assisting with special projects.

    Qualifications

    • Highly developed organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines;
    • Knowledge of relevant software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems;
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities;
    • Demonstrates close attention to detail and provides an accurate, neat and thorough work product;
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to facilitate effective working relationships with attorneys, clients and support staff;
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment; and
    • Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating and business needs.
