The Columbia, South Carolina office of Nelson Mullins, a regional AmLaw 100 law firm, seeks a Tax Manager.
The candidate will have broad general experience in managing a variety of federal, state, and local tax matters.
Develop a strong understanding of the business in order to effectively identify and manage tax planning opportunities and risks. Primary advisor on federal, state, and local tax issues related to the supported business units.
Develop relationships with business unit employees including executive, finance, and operations employees to become a business unit partner.
Support federal, state, and local compliance and tax accounting. Assist with domestic tax audits including: federal, state income tax, sales & use, and property tax audits. Manage state tax credits, property tax returns, and fixed asset records.
The candidate must have 7 + years’ experience and CPA license. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
Must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Must be able to successfully communicate with all levels of the organization.
Must have broad exposure and knowledge of US federal and state income tax, possess strong issue recognition, and be proficient at tax research.
