  • Overview

    The Nashville Office of a national, AmLaw 100 law firm is seeking qualified applicants to work with attorneys on business bankruptcy and commercial litigation cases.  The ideal candidate is a recent graduate from an accredited 4-year college or university who is considering law school or wants to learn more about the legal profession and is interested in working for 2 years prior to pursuing further education. 


    • Assist with full range of tasks from case inception through case closure
    • Prepare drafts of notices, motions, fee applications and proofs of claims, including organization of exhibits
    • Perform online PACER research
    • Prepare deposition notices; organize, maintain and prepare deposition materials, exhibits and summaries
    • Participate in case strategy meetings
    • Ensure expertise in technology relevant to the position; proactively use most current technology to further teamwork, client service, and efficiency
    • Electronically file documents with the Court through the ECF system under the supervision of an attorney
    • Handle routine calls and correspondence to creditors, outside attorneys, and clients


    • Ability to conduct research using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, Dunn & Bradstreet, and Courtlink.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively
    • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
    • Ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent teamwork skills and a strong client service orientation
    • Flexibility to work overtime as required

     Education: BA/BS required.  Paralegal certificate a plus.
