Overview

Columbia office of an AmLaw 100 law firm seeks an IT Technician to support systems, users and software.  Provision, maintain end-user computing devices including laptops, desktops, multi-function devices and peripherals.  Consults with end users on technical requests/issues.  Minimum of one (1) year of experience with computers, including troubleshooting, installing new equipment and loading software is preferred.  Experience within a law firm setting and a bachelor’s degree is preferred.  The ability to work independently and manage time and tasks in a productive team environment are essential.  Strong IT skills (Windows XP, MS Office, and LAN Technology) are required.  Qualified candidates must have excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment under strict deadlines.

 

Responsibilities

 

Supports systems, users and software. Provision, maintain end-user computing devices including laptops, desktops, multi-function devices and peripherals. Consults with end users on technical requests/issues. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoots and provisions printing/multi-function devices
  • Handles provisioning and troubleshooting of end-user computing systems
  • Assists with setup and understands the use of audio visual equipment including video conferencing
  • Handles escalated issues from Tier 1 support (Help Desk) using ticketing system
  • Troubleshoot and provision end-user dictation systems
  • Coordinate with and support remote end users
  • Work closely and in conjunction with applications, security and infrastructure engineering
  • Mobile device (iOS, Android) provisioning and support
  • Coordinate, prepares and breaks down end-user computing systems for various functions both onsite and remote
  • Assists with coordination and installation of end-user computing systems and peripherals
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of information technology
  • Travels as needed to remote offices for support functions
  • Participates in 24x7 On-call support rotation

 

Qualifications

  • Should have working knowledge of network protocols specifically TCP/IP, printers and peripherals
  • Should have solid working knowledge of Blackberry devices and experience with troubleshooting
  • Should have experience with hardware and software troubleshooting procedures
  • Should be able to lift, move, and install equipment commonly associated with the duties of this position, up to 50 pounds
  • Should have a working knowledge of all current versions of MS Office Suite, MS Exchange/Outlook and Active Directory
  • Should have solid customer service and communication skills
