Responsibilities

Experienced associate or patent agent sought to join Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP's growing Intellectual Property Life Sciences Group in its Boston office. The candidate must have at least 3 years of patent prosecution experience.  The candidate will work directly with attorneys and patent agents on IP matters for leading pharmaceutical companies and biotechnology start-ups. Primary responsibilities include patent prosecution, patentability and freedom-to-operate analysis, and opinion work.

 

 

Qualifications

  • 3 years of patent prosecution experience
  • The position requires a PhD or equivalent in molecular cell biology, immunology, biochemistry or relevant biological science.
  • Technical experience in protein and nucleic acid technologies preferred
  • The candidate must have strong communication, writing, analytical and organizational skills, and will receive mentoring and training in the practice of intellectual property law
  • USPTO admission
  • For attorneys:  Massachusetts Bar admission preferred
